Kanger Valley National Park, located in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, has been included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List. This is the first site in Chhattisgarh to receive this prestigious recognition. The state government has termed this achievement as historic, while Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary called it a moment of pride for Chhattisgarh.
A Treasure of Natural Beauty and Biodiversity
Kanger Valley National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, dense forests, caves, and rare flora. Along with various species of wildlife, the park is also home to hundreds of species of butterflies, making it even more special.

There is immense potential for developing a Butterfly Park in this region, which would not only promote tourism but also open new avenues for environmental conservation and research. Given the natural conditions and the availability of diverse species, experts believe that a dedicated eco-tourism project like a Butterfly Park could be established here, further enhancing the appeal of Kanger Valley.
